Haworthia fasciata 'Big Band'

🌵 Haworthia fasciata 'Big Band'
Common Names: Big Band Zebra Plant, Zebra Haworthia, Zebra Cactus, Fasciated Haworthia

This vibrant little succulent lives up to its name—'Big Band' bursts with bold, trumpet-shaped energy. Its thick, deep green leaves shoot outward like a fanfare, each one marked with distinctive raised white stripes on the underside that add rhythm and contrast. Compact yet full of personality, it’s a perfect feature in any succulent collection.

Give it a sunny spot, don’t overwater, and this jazzy plant will groove along happily with low maintenance and plenty of style.

🌍 Origin & Classification
Scientific Name: Haworthiopsis fasciata 'Big Band'

Synonyms: Haworthia fasciata, Aloe fasciata, Apicra fasciata, Catevala fasciata, Haworthia pumila subsp. fasciata

Native to: Eastern Cape Province, South Africa – dry, rocky terrain

đź’ˇ Care Guide
Light
Thrives in bright, indirect light with a few hours of gentle morning or late afternoon sun. Avoid intense, direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.

Water
Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. When it’s time to water, give it a good soak and ensure excellent drainage. Reduce watering in autumn and winter when the plant goes semi-dormant.

Humidity
Loves dry air and doesn’t require humidity. Avoid damp environments. You can rinse it off now and then to clean the leaves—just let it dry thoroughly.

Soil
Plant in a free-draining cactus or succulent mix, ideally with sand or grit. Repot every 2–3 years or when the plant outgrows its pot.

Feeding
Fertilise lightly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted liquid fertiliser every couple of months. No need to feed in winter.

Temperature
Prefers a warm range of 18–26°C. Keep above 10°C during colder months.

Pet-Safe
✅ Yes – non-toxic to both pets and humans.
